As each item is hand stamped their will be variation from piece to piece. Text may not necessarily be perfectly straight and each impression not being of exactly the same depth. This is due to the nature of hand stamping. Hand stamping is the process of using individual letters, numbers and design stamps to make an impression into metal.

Hand stamped metal is displaced when stamped instead of removed (such as engraving). This can mean that there may be some marks/shadows on the reverse of items. I aim to keep this at a minimum, and I can stamp items on both sides upon request.

Hand stamped items are unique and individual as no two pieces are exactly the same. This adds to the charm of each item, and is not considered to be a defect.

Aluminium can be washed using steam or warm water with a non-abrasive, chemical free soap. A soft, clean cloth may also be used to polish.

Stainless steel can be cleaned and polished using a soft, clean cloth.

Sterling silver may need to be cleaned occasionally. It is advisable to use a silver polishing cloth.

Silver plate should never be cleaned using polishing cloths, and ideally should not be washed. Silver plate will tarnish over time and quicker if it comes into contact with moisture or chemicals (such as perfumes).

I work mainly with aluminium as not only is it such a lovely metal to work with, it is also hypo-allergenic, lightweight, yet strong, durable and doesn't tarnish like other metals do.

Where possible I aim to package orders in recylable and recycled materials.

I use paper/card envelopes for the majority of my orders which can be recycled or reused.

Inside each package I do currently wrap each item in bubble wrap to protect from damage in transit. Bubble wrap is obviously made from plastic, and may appear to be counterproductive considering I use card envelopes. However, every piece of personal or business post I receive which comes with plastic bubble wrap is squirelled away into a cupboard. I then use this on orders. This allows me to both keep costs for the customer low, and reuse something which would have otherwise just been binned. When I eventually run out of bubble wrap I will move to a greener alternative.
